everything is melting Yesterday in a fit of impulse shopping I bought a lucky bamboo plant and a medium sized Chinese style blue and white vase. Neither of these items was very expensive and at the moment I just couldn't resist getting them. When I saw them in the store, I had a feeling that they would blend in perfectly with the Asian theme that I have in my house. Now having got them safely home and on display in my living room, I have no regrets about either of them. They look great. In fact, I like the way they look so much that I might go back later this week and get another plant and or vase. Why stop at just two of each when I can have three? My living room got even more attention from me today. I finally sorted through the two ever growing piles of books and papers that had been cluttering the landing by the stairs. Having either put away or discarded the items in said piles, I am amazed at the amount of floor space that I have reclaimed. I can walk freely again without fear of stepping on something. Now I need to keep the momentum going and tackle the mess that has been squatting on my kitchen table for weeks. ... Thanks to the Garden State soundtrack, I have decided to give the band The Shins another chance. Their song New Slang is what changed my mind. Words fail me when I listen to it and I can't think of a better compliment. ... Chinese New Year starts on the ninth and it will be the year of the Rooster again which is what it was when I was born so that makes me happy. Here is what they say about Roosters: "The sign of the Rooster indicates a person who is hard-working and definite about their decisions. Roosters are not afraid to speak their minds and can therefore sometimes come across as boastful. They make good restaurant owners and world travelers." Or "People born in the Year of the Rooster are deep thinkers, capable, and talented. They like to be busy and are devoted beyond their capabilities and are deeply disappointed if they fail. People born in the Rooster Year are often a bit eccentric, and often have rather difficult relationship with others. They always think they are right and usually are! They frequently are loners and though they give the outward impression of being adventurous, they are timid. Rooster people's emotions like their fortunes, swing very high to very low. They can be selfish and too outspoken, but are always interesting and can be extremely brave. They are most compatible with Ox, Snake and Dragon." I'm not sure which description I prefer. |
