doctor who rose As soon as I read online that the new episode of Doctor Who had been leaked, I knew that I had to see it and this morning I did. What is even better is that I liked what I saw. Both Christopher Eccleston and Billie Piper do a great job in their respective roles of Doctor and companion. The chemistry is there and the effects didn't make me wince as much as they did years ago. Sixteen years ago the final episode of Doctor Who aired on television and naturally most people thought that would be the end of it. Despite being a science fiction show with poor special effects, it had a glorious run spanning over two decades gathering a huge following in Britain and to a lesser degree in the United States. Over time the ratings must have waned enough to bring about its demise. Then something must have changed, because a year or so ago the BBC announced that they were going to start making new episodes. Now the wait is over and the BBC will debut the first one on the twenty-sixth of this month. I, however, wasn't willing to wait. Who knows when PBS will get the episodes from the BBC? ... Three years ago I was panting over a girl that I haven't seen since that class ended. Sigh. So much wasted time. |
