barking dog

Sigh. I went to sleep not knowing that I would be woken up a mere two hours later by a barking dog. No. Barking is not the right word. Yelping would be a more appropriate description of what I was subjected to for at least an hour.

From what I can piece together, the woman downstairs must have went for a walk and decided to leave the dog outside while she was gone. I doubt that she was home, because the phone rang numerous times and wasn't answered. Then in a somewhat childish attempt to get her attention I repeatedly dropped things on my floor and got no response.

Now a more calm and rational version of me might have seen this as a simple mistake, but when I am operating on two hours of sleep I took it as a personal assault. Thoughts of revenge came quickly as I stood at my window watching the dog yelp from various locations in the yard.

That one hour ruined the whole day for me and I won't forget it.
