Michelangelo sibyl from the Sistine Chapel

I might be rushing the seasons, but I took the air conditioner out of my bedroom window this afternoon. While I was at it, I also rolled up the awning outside the window. With both of these things removed, I was amazed at the amount of light that came into the room. It made the whole room seem so much more inviting than it was all summer. Then again I had purposely rolled the window down earlier in the year so that I could sleep during the day and direct sunlight was the last thing that I wanted. Of course none of this mattered, because I ended up falling asleep in the livingroom under the heat of the noon day sun. At least the awning kept the air conditioner in the shade and maybe made it work less.

Later in the afternoon I surprised myself by wasting over two hours on a computer game. Except for a select few titles, most computer games bore me. The appeal just isn't there for me. From what I can tell there seems to be two broad categories of games. There are the fast action ones of shoot and run or there are longer strategy games that take hours to play. I always have a hard time concentrating on all of the moving colors in the first category, so I tend to like the second category better. Even after wasting so much time I probably won't buy the game, because I can think of other software packages that I need more than games.

I can tell that it is going to take another day or two until get back into the mode of writing something worthwhile.
