Michelangelo sibyl from the Sistine Chapel

impressionist bedroom

The latest two prints that I ordered from an online site arrived late this afternoon. So tomorrow I'll go to have my new copies of Caillebotte's Paris Street; Rainy Day and Manet's Bar at the Folies-Bergere framed. When I get them back, they'll go in my bedroom. After they are hung, the dining room will be the only place in the house with any bare walls. I already have a few ideas of what I want to go there.

Once again I am in a Charles Foster Kane mood, where I want to surround myself with as many pieces of art as possbile. The medium doesn't matter nor does the style. I can mix classical and modern. Quite simply I want paintings, prints and scuplture everywhere I look. I guess that if I can't go anywhere to see famous works of art, I want to bring them to me. Of course my bank account is limited to reproductions, but at least I can have something.

I've left the world of ironwood sculptures behind for art deco as I spent part of the day scanning the internet for anything I could find. My search for statues and prints included auctions and book sites with my focus on Erte, Mucha and De Lempicka.
